It’s time to prioritize yourself

You take care of everyone else’s needs and put their feelings ahead of your own. You default to certain behaviors when it comes to family and relationships. But something feels off – like this is a past version of you and not who you are (or want to be) now.

Talking with someone who truly understands the nuanced dynamics and expectations within Filipino|AANHPI|Immigrant families and how these can impact relationships is a great place to start.

Therapy is about understanding and unlearning old behaviors and returning home to you.

WHO WE ARE

We are Weaving Stories Therapy

Ready to help you live life on your terms.

As the daughter of Filipino immigrants, I understand the complexities of navigating different cultures with often conflicting values. I know the pressure to honor my parents’ struggles while also trying to stay true to myself. I know the humble desire to make them proud, the sense of duty and gratitude for their sacrifices, and the fierce loyalty inherent in many immigrant families. My journey has shown me the impact of unaddressed family wounds —silent suffering, defensive behaviors, and unhealthy relationship patterns—but also that profound healing is possible when there is trust and connection.

At Weaving Stories Therapy, we’re here to help and support you in leading a full and authentic life. We understand the importance of culturally relevant support and services. We strive to help our clients unpack old narratives, process (intergenerational) trauma, understand the impact of their upbringing, gain clarity, live in alignment with their values, and re-connect to their inner wisdom.

We believe it is imperative to acknowledge how toxic systems impact mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, and acknowledge the need for systemic change. We are committed to creating a welcoming space for all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, nationalities, classes, religions, abilities, sizes, and neurodiversities.
